Living at Domaine des Ormeaux
From the second half of 2027, the four cottages at Domaine des Ormeaux, currently available for short-term holiday rentals, will take on a new purpose: offering fully furnished residential accommodation for independent seniors and recently retired people, whether living alone or as a couple.
Domaine des Ormeaux aims to offer a different way of living: maintaining independence and enjoying a home of one's own while benefiting from an environment that encourages social interaction, conversation and a friendly atmosphere.
A place to live differently
We wish to offer an alternative between conventional independent housing and communal shared living.
Here, everyone has their own home, their privacy and their own pace of life.
For those who are concerned about loneliness, we aim to encourage social interaction and opportunities to connect with others.
The Domaine offers the opportunity to share certain moments, spaces and activities, without pressure or obligation.
Everyone is free to live at their own pace.
Our aim is to create an environment built around a few simple values:
- A warm and welcoming atmosphere;
- Respect for everyone's privacy;
- Independence;
- Tolerance;
- Kindness and consideration for others;
- Mutual support, without obligation.
Above all, Domaine des Ormeaux is a place where everyone can enjoy a home of their own while never being far from others.
A family estate steeped in history
Les Ormeaux has been in the same family for more than three centuries.
Over the years, many of our guests have told us that they experienced something special here: a particular atmosphere, a sense of serenity, and a genuine soul to the place.
It is this history, natural setting and atmosphere that we now wish to share in a different way.
Living at Les Ormeaux also means enjoying an unspoilt rural setting, extensive parkland, an orchard and the peaceful countryside of the Périgord region.
Who is this project for?
This accommodation is intended for people who have retired or are semi-retired.
It is designed for individuals and couples who are physically able and independent, and who are looking for:
Comfortable, fully furnished accommodation;
- A peaceful, natural environment;
- A friendly atmosphere without an imposed communal lifestyle;
- The freedom to maintain their independence;
- A small, close-knit residential community;
- A place where everyone's privacy and pace of life are respected.
Domaine des Ormeaux is not a medical or assisted-care facility.
YOUR HOME: YOUR INDEPENDENCE
The Domaine offers four fully furnished and equipped accommodation units, located within the estate's buildings.
Each home is designed to provide complete independence in comfortable and welcoming surroundings.
FOUR HOMES ON A HUMAN SCALE
- 2 one-bedroom apartments (T2), each measuring 60 m²;
- 2 two-bedroom apartments (T3), measuring between 80 m² and 85 m².
Each home has its own living spaces, allowing residents to preserve their privacy and independence.
Residents who wish to do so may also bring and arrange some of their own personal belongings to make their accommodation feel truly like home.
Detailed descriptions, photographs and specifications for each property are available on the Adèle, Amélie, Jeanne and Marie pages of our website.
The Domaine accommodates a maximum of eight residents across all four homes.
This deliberately limited capacity helps preserve a peaceful, family-like atmosphere and encourages simple, natural neighbourly relationships.
Everyone can enjoy their own home and privacy while having the opportunity to meet and socialise with fellow residents.
- The Domaine's shared spaces and facilities
- Your pets and the Domaine's animals
- Welcoming family and friends

For those who enjoy gardening, the possibility of creating an individual or shared vegetable garden may be considered.
A shared chicken coop could also be created if residents wish.

The Domaine has a welcoming 93 m² communal room designed for socialising and shared activities.
It includes:
- A large dining table;

A library and board games are also available.

Animals are an integral part of life at Les Ormeaux.

They can also enjoy the company of the Domaine's own animals: dogs, cats, horses and a donkey.
You will have the option of renting the Lucy guest room, which accommodates two people, to welcome family members or friends for occasional visits, in accordance with the Domaine's house rules.
To preserve residents' peace and quiet, the Domaine's facilities are reserved exclusively for residents.
To make daily life easier, residents will be able to call on people who are already familiar with the Domaine for a range of services, including:
- Housekeeping;
- Ironing;
- Shopping and errands.
These services will be provided upon request and charged separately, with payment made directly to the people providing them. Payment through France's Chèque emploi service scheme may be possible.
Other professionals may also visit the Domaine to provide personal care and well-being services, including:
- Massage therapists;
- Beauticians;
- Hairdressers.
Bookings and payments for these services will be arranged directly between the resident and the service provider.

We aim to offer a straightforward arrangement that allows residents to plan their monthly budget with confidence.

Easier mobility
The Domaine has several facilities designed to make everyday life more convenient:
- Open-air and covered parking;

The legal framework of the rental agreement
The accommodation is offered under a one-year furnished residential tenancy agreement.
At the end of this period, the agreement is automatically renewed unless notice is given in accordance with the applicable regulations.
The rental arrangements are governed, in particular, by the provisions of the French Law of 6 July 1989 and the regulations applicable to furnished residential rentals.
To preserve the spirit of the Domaine and ensure harmonious cohabitation, each resident will also agree to abide by a Charter for Shared Living.
This charter will set out, in particular, the rules governing the use of communal spaces, respect for everyone's peace and privacy, and the principles of shared life at the Domaine.
Discover Les Ormeaux before moving in
Choosing a new place to live is an important decision. We want everyone to have the time to discover the Domaine and make sure that their plans and expectations are in keeping with the spirit of the place.
The process involves several stages.
1. An initial telephone conversation
Our first conversation is an opportunity to get to know one another, explain the project and discuss everyone's expectations.
2. A visit to the Domaine
We will welcome you to Les Ormeaux and show you the property, the accommodation and the surrounding environment.
3. A trial stay
Before making a permanent move, you may arrange a trial stay lasting a minimum of one month and a maximum of three months.
This period allows you to experience life at Les Ormeaux first-hand and discover the surroundings and how the Domaine operates.
4. Moving in
If the project meets everyone's expectations, arrangements can be made for you to move in, including signing the furnished residential tenancy agreement and the Charter for Shared Living.
We invite you to contact us for an informal conversation about your plans, your expectations and the accommodation options available.
Welcome to Les Ormeaux!
